25th June 2021 Kite surfing: Llanfairfechan Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: F5/F6 Surf / Sea State: Small surf Air Temperature: 12 Sea Temperature: 15.1 Weather: Overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered: North wind held tide up so sand a bit late at west end of beach. Chose 9m which was right. Did think of windsurf which would have been good, but kite gives more latitude and guessing wind is hard in this direction. Lots of 2 feet surf and managed a few crude toe side turns on them. Smooth between surf. Easy to try something new as only thigh deep in surf. Dropped kite trying a gybe and lines went inside, but able to stand and figure which lines crossed, unhook and pass bar through lines - easier than i expected as able to stand and wind was easing. Ryan doing some big jumps. After couple of hours wind eased and rain came, just as windsurfer came out on 6m(?) and was going well. My second busiest June but doesn't feel like it as winds light. |
